The weather was wonderful for the Spectrun at Great Hollow Lake at Wolfe Park in Monroe on Saturday. I am not a resident of the wonderful town of Monroe, so I had never been to Wolfe Park before. What a beautiful and well kept secret and what a wonderful venue for this event! The turnout for the 1st annual run was impressive with over 250 runners and walkers. There was something for everyone at the event: a 5k run/walk, a 100 yard bubble dash, free massages, a great band and food trucks (Chips and Taco Loco). In keeping with the theme of the run, every color of the spectrum was seen in the rainbow sea runners, walkers and strollers. The first runner finished the run in less than 17 minutes. Mobile Veterinary Clinic was just one of the many sponsors for the 5k run for Autism. A great time was had by all. Congratulations to the Kennedy Center and the Autism Project for a very successful 1st annual Spectrun. Mobile Veterinary Clinic is looking forward to next year!
